“And the Ride Continues...”

There are so many fantastic roads out here in NC that you could ride for weeks and haven't seen it all. There is one noteworthy loop we recommend for today, if you're up for it:

The Devil's Whip

Approximately 40 miles north-east of Asheville (about 1 hour) you'll get to an off-ramp of the BRP that leads to Hwy 80, Buck Creek Rd. Turn right and take 80 South, this is called the Devil's Whip, one of the locals favorite roads to ride when out and about in North Carolina.

Before you get to Hwy 70 (~12 miles) turn left onto Toms Creek Rd for 2.5 miles and turn left onto Hwy 221. After 4 miles turn left onto Hwy 226 and left again onto 226A. This road will lead you to Little Switzerland with a lodge, hotel and Cafe for a nice break before you connect right there with BRP again.

This loop is a detour from the direct route to Little Switzerland on BRP and adds just 10 more miles to the clock, we think it's well worth it. If you're hooked on BRP then just continue and ride as you please.

The Snake

"The Snake" is a 33-mile motorcycle ride on US 421 in North Carolina and Tennessee that's known for its 489 curves, three mountains, and one valley. The ride starts 25 miles north of Boone, NC, and crosses the state line into Mountain City, TN, where it continues through Cherokee National Forest, Shady Valley, TN, and Holston Valley, TN. Some say the ride can be dangerous in the winter and desolate at night, and recommend having enough gas for the trip.
